Committed to Excellence
What is the secret to the success of Millers Cleaners? Start with
the company's perfectionist streak. "We have many quality controls in
place," says Craig Miller, general manager. "Everything from each order
is double checked for accuracy-items are checked when assembled and
when packaged. Each presser is assigned to check for loose hems and
buttons missing. We focus on applying all our high standards on a
consistent basis."
A family business with close ties to the community, Millers Cleaners
was founded by Dan and Betty Miller in 1977. Dan miller worked at the
White House Cleaners in Pasadena, California. He then moved back to the
area and worked for JW Enterprises, originally One Hour Martinizing.
"My dad had a history in dry cleaning, so he purchased an existing
cleaners to start Millers Cleaners," Miller says.
Currently ,Millers has six satellite locations in Wichita and the main
operating plant at 2002 W. 2nd St. The company employs more than 30
full- and part-time employees, including Dan's cousin Donna, his
brother David, and Dan and Betty's son Craig, who plans to continue
running the family business well into the next generation.
How has Millers Cleaners successfully expanded and thrived over the
years? One location at a time, Miller says, with the same focus on
quality. "We have taken on growth slowly, so we can still provide
quality service we are known for," he says. "We are meticulous about
the way we do things."

Millers Cleaners is known for an eco-friendly focus, with a cleaning
process that uses petroleum solvent. Petroleum-based solvents do not
emit toxic or environmental waste that can seep into groundwater
causing toxic plumes. "We are probably the most environmentally
friendly cleaners around," Miller says. "We don't use PERC, which is a
groundwater contaminant. And all of our poly bags are biodegradable. We
use plastic hangers for our shirt laundry, which are recyclable and
reusable."
The company's commitment to customers is solid at Millers. "My dad has
always believed that any of our customers should have enough confidence
that we have cleaned their clothes well and they are ready to wear, at
anytime," Miller says. "We look at it as each thing we produce is
important. Someone may be wearing it to an interview, funeral, or
wedding. An important part of their lives may be affected if we don't
do our job. We know that we can make a difference.
We definitely go above and beyond for our customers."
